One more thing….

I brought on the other contributors because I personally respect their opinions and think they lead interesting lives. So take a second to visit their pages, meet them, and read a post or two.

Thanks!

Just so you know, I do check ;)

Good Morning Monday

I HATE coffee makers.  Too much mess for one cup of average (if I’m lucky) coffee.  So this single bodum insulated press is perfect for my mornings. (Don’t worry.  I’m not going to go into the whole, woe is me, I wish I needed a full press to make a pot for myself and the fabulous man in my life.  No, that would just be silly….oops.)

Love the slogan, “Give Up Bad Coffee For Good.”  Pretty tough to mess up coffee in this mug (thank goodness).

Today, or this week rather, I’m having “Cinnamon Stick” from Central Market. The medium roast gently lifts me out of my morning fog and the cinnamon makes me smile.

(This post was inspired by Tony, who writes the blog MyCoffeeFace. He wrote me about my post last week on Stumptown coffee in NYC.  I would give anything for that french toast bread right now.)

If You Like MTM, Please Read This

The title of this post started off as “While I Was Brushing My Teeth Tonight” but then I thought to myself, “I actually want them to read this post, and that title is far from compelling, so just tell them to read it.”

But, I’m still gonna entertain you with iPhone pics of me brushing my teeth. Dream come true I’m sure.

It dawned on me earlier that between myself, the bloggers I incorporated in my posts, Nutritionista, and Ron, we posted some quality content on the blog yesterday.   And come to think of it, this week has been pretty solid. However, if readers only spend an average of less than 2 minutes on the home page, you’re missing info we find to be interesting and valuable.

Rebloggers used to give me a hard time for being too fluffy and self-centered, but now people asking for and DEMANDING more pictures and posts about me and Mason.  I mean…I can’t win this battle.

Friday is usually my “Travel” day, which admittedly is the weakest theme, but I’m working on making it stronger.

I realize that most of you have not been reading my blog since the StyleByMaryRambin days and should revisit some of the tips I talked about back then.

All of that being said, I have pretty cool travel tip to share with you today.  I was surprised to see this website that would allow all of you to travel the world like I do (on some level).

But before I do that, I want you to revisit what we at MTM have shared with you over the course of this week that you might have missed.  We put A LOT of effort into this site which right now is yielding us very little rent money.  So since we’re not asking you to pay up, we only ask that you take a minute to read.  I read every one of your emails and personally provide lengthy answers, many times with links to posts I have recently written and you have missed.

So today, travel back through MTM this week and take away a few tips we have loved having in our lives. Below I’ve posted the bottom line, not the title, so you can pick and choose which are most applicable to you.

So now that you’ve caught up on what’s going on with us and with you, get back to work!

Happy Wednesday. Just Wanted To Say Hello.

“Yes, I’d love another cup, babe. Thanks.”

My favorite way to spend Sunday morning:

Wrapped up in an over-sized robe
Feeling the warmth of the sun through the window
Listening to Stan Getz fill the house
Sipping on fresh oj and coffee
Tearing off pieces of a toasted croissant with jam
Reading the Sunday Times on the couch
Curled up next to a man who loves doing the same thing.

Spotted Monster Spotted In H-Town

This just in: spotted Mermaid was seen running around Houston late this afternoon after another battle with Botox.  From the looks of it, she lost.

She tried to run from us, she tried to hide, but then for the sake of a good LOL, she surrendered the photos on her iPhone from her office visit with one Dr. Christopher Patronella.  The only witness to scene was apparently holding a Kodak Zi8 and shooting one of her “life experiment” episodes.  Our research tells us next week’s installment will be the much anticipated taser video in which she voluntarily has electricity shot through her ass.  As reporters, we find this much more entertaining than her previous rectal water stunts.

Below, see the beast in question.  Warning: might not be suitable for young children.

Apparently the issue started on her forehead -

and AGE spread from there.

Mermaid turns 28 this month and seems to think she can stop Father Time from stomping all over her face.

(Full Disclosure: Botox and fillers comped by Dr. Patronella for Life Experiment episode.)

Big Gulp Goodbye

I’m starting off my last day in Mexico with a Big Gulp of fresh oj ($2.60 – just saying) and I’m off to the gym.

The rest of the day I’ll be working from home and hopefully hitting the beach around three to take in my last breath of ocean air for a while. For a girl who has been in Mexico for three weeks, my tan is pathetic! Too much work and not enough fun in the sun. But totally worth it, wouldn’t you say!!

I’ll toast you later with a glass of Don to say adios properly.

Then I’m going to stop off in Houston quickly before heading to NYC for fashion week.

Now you’re all caught up. Have a great day.

Smile Friday – I Found My Grin Edition

Just wanted to say thanks to all of you who sent your love through cyberspace when I was having a bad day. Your notes mean a lot to me.

Like all bad days, they fade away and you come back to life the next day.

Yesterday was really productive so I’m feeling confident about the launch of the new MoreThanMary website.  By the way, that’s Monday!!!

I’ll post a video with a full explanation later.

As for now, hold your breath.

Kidding!  It’s now your turn to smile, it’s Friday!!!

(Photo taken by yours truly while working on the deck yesterday.  And no, I’m not topless…at least in this photo.)

GPOYW: What the hell is the matter with me edition

I planned on posting this picture in the context of “I had to do the cheesy jumping picture pose for once in my life” or “I’m not delusional – I know I’m one lucky biatch to be living and working in Mexico” but my day is so shitty I have to think “What the hell is the matter with me” that I can’t find a smile.

I wish I could say I’m on a hormonal roller coaster, but unfortunately that’s not the case.

The day started at 6am with the discovery that my new Ralph Lauren cashmere cardigan had been in the bottom of my laundry bag and had therefore been washed AND dried at the laundromat. I won’t mention how much it costs, but let’s just say my super soft favorite sweater now feels like sandpaper.  That pretty much almost had me in tears.  I tried to work it out at the gym to no avail, and now I’m sitting at my computer completely overwhelmed with work.  There are a few other issues on my plate as well, and it’s just too much!

Yesterday I had been so excited to tackle my to-do list today…..

On my own suggestion from earlier today, I’ve put on one of my favorite mixes and will be nose to the grindstone after this post.

Tomorrow, after another full day of work, I’ll jump on the beach and think, “you silly girl getting all upset when you knew you you could get it all done.  Now look at you, drinking a Corona on the beach.  People in NYC would kill to be here after a day at the office.  Get over yourself!”
